In an expression of gratitude to God, former Nigerian Ambassador to Italy, Mfawa Omini Abam, and his wife, Mrs. Ifeoma Uzoamaka Abam, have funded the reconstruction of the church building at the Apostolic Church of Nigeria, Lewankom Assembly, located in the Ijom District of Ugep, Cross River State.
This act serves as a token of thanks for a fulfilling diplomatic career that spanned more than three decades, as well as for the continued health and wellbeing of their family.
In a statement issued on behalf of the family by Dr. Koms Abam and Rev. (Mrs.) Obal Abam Awara, the couple explained that the decision to rebuild the church auditorium came after noticing the deteriorating condition of the structure.
They noted that the church has held special significance for the family as it was the place of worship for Ambassador Abam’s late parents before their passing.
The family dedicated the rebuilding project to the memory of Elder Usani Omini Abam (JP) and Deaconess Enoh Onen Abam (JP), in recognition of their faith and contributions to the church.
The official dedication and thanksgiving ceremony for the newly renovated church auditorium will take place on Sunday, August 24, at 10am on the church premises. The family has extended an invitation to friends, colleagues, and well-wishers to join them in celebrating the occasion.
