Gospel singer and worship leader Victoria Orenze recently held a press conference to speak about her latest album.
At the press event, she openly discussed some of the personal difficulties she faced while growing up.
Her latest album, titled Jesus Christ Vol. 1, officially became available on May 30, 2025. It includes a total of 12 songs and features a mix of contemporary worship and prophetic ministrations.
While addressing questions at the press conference, Orenze spoke about having a difficult personality as a child. She admitted that she often got into conflicts and had a reputation for being short-tempered. “I used to fight a lot. I was stubborn and quick to anger,” she said.
She gave credit to her mother for playing an important role in changing the course of her life. According to Orenze, her mother, who is deeply spiritual, prayed that God would correct her anytime she acted out in anger. She further noted that those prayers helped her develop self-control and guided her toward the path she is on today.
In addition to her emotional struggles, she also talked about the practical challenges she faced. At one point in her life, she had to sell goods on the streets to survive. She shared that she had been involved in hawking and had sold many things during her earlier years.
Now recognized for her influence in the gospel music scene, Orenze says her past experiences shaped her into who she is. She views her personal growth as an important part of her journey and sees it as a necessary process that helped her discover her purpose in music and ministry.
