Nigerian pastor and televangelist, Jerry Eze has shared his views on what it means to have an authentic ministry.
During an interview with Chude Jideonwo, he made it clear that he does not see himself as a professional pastor and would rather leave this world than become one.
He said, “I’m not a professional pastor, the day I become a professional pastor let God kill me.”
He also added, “The day it ceases to be about God and be about Jerry let God close down everything.”
Jerry Eze explained that his work in ministry is fueled by a true passion for spreading the gospel and serving people, rather than by professionalism or status.
He revealed that reaching his current level of influence was not something he planned. Instead, he believes that real success comes from remaining focused on God’s purpose and not on personal fame or recognition.
In his words, “I didn’t plan to be here, this is not something you plan that at some point you’re going to be big and the world will hear of you.”
He continued, “I know what my assignment is, I know what God has called me to do and it has consumed me.”
Jerry Eze added that he does not concern himself with others’ opinions or feelings but finds encouragement in the joy and testimonies of those he serves.
He said, “I don’t care what anybody thinks or feels but the encouragement is when I see those smiles and hear those testimonies.”
