The Christian Association of Nigeria has offered its condolences following the passing of Nigeria’s former president, Muhammadu Buhari. In a message signed by the association’s president, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, the Christian community reflected on Buhari’s time in office and expressed sympathy for those affected by his death.
According to the message, the former president played a meaningful role in Nigeria’s public life. The association acknowledged that his leadership period came with difficulties, yet they also recognized his sense of duty and the effort he put into serving the country.
“While his tenure as president was not without its challenges, former President Buhari served our nation with dedication and a deep sense of duty. His contributions to Nigeria’s development and his commitment to public service form a significant part of our national history.”
In the same statement, CAN offered their support to those grieving. “We join all Nigerians in mourning his loss, and we pray that the Almighty God grants his family and loved ones the strength to bear this sorrow. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
The association said it was standing in solidarity with the late president’s relatives, colleagues, and the public during this time of loss.
