President of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, has urged believers to take individual responsibility in their spiritual journeys, particularly when it comes to prayer.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Speaking to his congregation, Oyedepo highlighted that no one can outsource their personal prayer life. “You cannot contract your prayer life out,” he said. “You watch and pray or you fall. You have not because you ask not, not because they don’t pray for you. He, not they.”
Referencing the story of the impotent man at the pool of Bethesda. Oyedepo pointed out that, according to the biblical account, the man was waiting for someone to help him into the pool when the waters were stirred, but there was “no man” to assist him.
“Every man is going about his business. Can’t the angel meet you inside the water?
“That is the futility of waiting for someone to come and do something for you. It’s the most futile thing to do in the world.Don’t contract your prayer life out,” he added.
He further cautioned about the rise of deceptive spiritual leaders who may mislead people into believing they can avoid personal responsibility by relying on others.
He encouraged the congregation to understand that everyone is ultimately responsible for the outcome of their life, regardless of external circumstances.
