Senior Pastor of The Word International Christian Centre, also known as Wonders’ Chapel, Pastor Bayo Oluwayemi, has advised parents not to prioritize paying tithe over their children’s school fees.
In a sermon that has gained attention, Pastor Bayo emphasized that using school fees to pay tithes would be detrimental to a child’s future.
As monitored by GospelRaw, the pastor shared his thoughts in a video that has gone viral, where he encouraged his congregation to ensure that their children’s education was their primary financial responsibility before making any church contributions.
He stated that religious teachings often pressure believers into prioritizing tithes, sometimes to the detriment of their family’s needs.
“If your children’s school fees are due, don’t bring money to church,” Pastor Bayo said.
“Do not sacrifice your children’s future to pay tithe. Religion has often caused people to think that without paying tithes, they will not be blessed.
“This kind of thinking puts people in a difficult position, making them struggle to meet church expectations while neglecting essential responsibilities at home.”
He further explained that no church or religious institution needs money as much as a child needs proper education.
According to him, the well-being and future of children should take precedence over financial offerings in church.
