Governor of Edo State, Mr. Monday Okpebholo, recently shared how he was healed from a long-standing illness after an encounter with Bishop David Abioye, during a Night of Peace event at the Living Word Conquerors Global Assembly on Saturday, July 25.
Okpebholo explained that in 2007, he had been seriously ill and had sought various treatments with no success. A friend gave him a note to meet Bishop Abioye, and when he arrived at the bishop’s office, Abioye prayed for him in front of a small group, saying, “May the Lord heal you and give you testimonies.” According to Okpebholo, that prayer marked the end of his sickness.
After his healing, some people encouraged him to run for the Senate. Although he was hesitant, he initially kept the idea to himself, especially since Bishop Abioye’s wife had advised him against entering politics. Still, he felt compelled to speak with the bishop, praying that he wouldn’t be directed to his wife for advice.
When he met with Abioye, the bishop asked him to kneel, then said simply, “From primary 1 to primary 2, peace.” Okpebholo understood this as confirmation that peace would be his guide in any political decisions.
He encouraged those present to take the peace they had received and share it with others, believing the impartation would have a lasting impact.
