Gaise Baba has set a new record in Nigerian gospel music with his latest release, “No Turning Back II,” which features the acclaimed Lawrence Oyor.
The song has climbed to No. 4 position on the TurnTable Top 100 chart, making it the highest-ranking gospel track in the chart’s history.
This modern reinterpretation of the timeless hymn “I Have Decided to Follow Jesus” blends traditional gospel roots with a more contemporary style.
The song’s success is partly due to its resonance on social media, especially TikTok, where its powerful lyrics and catchy rhythm have inspired thousands of user-generated videos.
TurnTable, which monitors Nigeria’s music landscape by collecting data from radio, TV, and major streaming services, confirmed the achievement in a recent update.
It noted that the song outperformed Lawrence Oyor’s previous hit “Favour,” which peaked at No. 23 earlier this year, as well as “We Will Be Many,” which reached No. 26. All three records feature Lawrence Oyor.
