Founder and Lead Pastor of Streams of Joy International, Jerry Eze, has opened up about the emotional and spiritual turmoil he experienced after walking away from a flourishing corporate path to pursue full-time ministry.
During a recent conversation on the WithChude Live podcast, the 42-year-old pastor and convener of the New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declaration (NSPPD) spoke candidly about the moment he began questioning his spiritual convictions shortly after resigning from his professional role.
Pastor Jerry, who previously worked as a communications expert with major international organizations including the World Bank’s HIV/AIDS initiative and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), described the early days of his transition as filled with anxiety and self-doubt.
“I remembered one month after I had resigned. I thought I made the biggest mistake of my life. I felt like can God really make me jobless because I love to do something,” he shared during the session.
At the time, what seemed like a crisis of faith would later reveal itself, in Eze’s words, to be a “divine setup”- a period of refining and preparation for the global impact his ministry would later achieve.
He explained that choosing to share this part of his journey was a deliberate effort to uplift others who may be enduring seasons of uncertainty and hesitation.
“I knew that that was the time of being set apart for preparation for the what the world is witnessing right now,” he added.
“If you’ve faced temptation, someone out there wants to know what that was like. If you’ve ever felt like giving up, they want to know how you dealt with it. We are all part of a bigger plan that God is working on.”
