Dr. Paul Enenche, Founder and Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, has condemned the dire situation in Nigeria, claiming that the country is under the grip of an “evil spell.”
Speaking candidly, Dr. Enenche described how pastors and church leaders are overwhelmed, trying to meet the overwhelming needs of their congregations.
He said, “Apart from the fact that you have pain, that the people you are shepherding and pastoring are suffering and in pains, no matter how big you are, you can run empty, meeting everybody’s need.”
He pointed out that church members now queue after services, not for spiritual support, but for help with basic needs like rent, school fees, food, and medical bills. Dr. Enenche called this phenomenon a spell of tolerance of suffering and referred to it as a “demonic tolerance of suffering.”
He also expressed outrage over the insensitivity of the nation’s leaders. According to him, those at the highest levels of government act as though nothing is wrong, even mocking the suffering of the people. “If it’s not a spell, there is no way things like that happen,” he remarked.
Dr. Enenche’s comments also touched on the legacy of the former administration, which he accused of complicity in terrorism. He claimed that the former president, who he called a “patron of terrorist organizations,” contributed to the deaths of many innocent citizens.
In his social media post, Dr. Enenche doubled down on his remarks, writing: “There’s a blanket of sorcery and darkness over this nation; an evil spell making people tolerate what should provoke outrage. People are suffering. Pastors are drained.
“Members now queue after service not for prayer, but for help with rent, school fees, food, medical bills. Yet, the leaders act as though nothing is wrong. This is not normal. It is witchcraft. A spell of patience in captivity. A demonic tolerance of suffering.”
