Odumeje accused President Tinubu of gallivanting and claiming leadership without delivering results. He stated emphatically that Nigeria has never had a true leader since gaining independence, adding that the very concept of independence is a lie.
“I hate when people are coming out and begin to say, ‘I am this, I am that.’ What is that?” he said. “Look at the country, more hunger. All our girls are in streets for prostitution because of hunger. All our young boys now are into internet fraud to survive.”
Odumeje further lamented the hardship faced by ordinary Nigerians, saying it is the failure of leadership that has pushed young people into crime and desperation. He stressed the need for a radical change, emphasizing that citizens must fight to ensure a better future for their children.
“We are leaders and we have children. And we can never die just like that. We must die but we must fight everything possible to bring a good country for our children to enjoy,” he declared.
Odumeje further challenged President Tinubu to face world leaders, particularly naming US President Donald Trump.
“Let your president go to America and shake President Trump. I will tell you, Tinubu. You’re a president. Go and shake Trump,” Odumeje dared.
He dismissed Nigerian politicians as jokers, saying they are not true leaders but merely individuals who parade themselves with titles like senator and governor.
