Pastor Adeboye shared that, during times of financial hardship, he would often reassure himself and others by saying, “God is working overtime taking care of me.”
His unwavering belief in God’s provision led some to caution him against speaking in such terms, suggesting that no one would want to offer financial help if he kept proclaiming that he was being taken care of by God alone.
Despite their concerns, Pastor Adeboye remained firm in his faith. “I wasn’t bothered because I was not relying on man for help,” he explained. “I often made this clear to anyone who cared to listen.”
Looking back at how far he has come, Pastor Adeboye credits his success to his trust in God. “I put all my faith in God, and declared my way into the wealth that God had already prepared for me,” he said. He encourages others to do the same, urging them to speak positively and in faith about their circumstances.
“You can do so too,” he said. “Stop saying you are broke. Stop saying things are hard. Remember that, as God lives, it is what He hears you say that He will do to you,” he emphasized, quoting Numbers 14:28.
