Pastor Tunde Bakare, leader of the Citadel Global Community Church, recently met with President Bola Tinubu at his Lagos residence. After their private discussion, Bakare spoke briefly with the press and explained the reason behind his visit.

He said the meeting was part of his efforts to play a constructive role in national development. According to him, their conversation centered on practical steps that could help improve the country. He emphasized that his interest lies in seeing Nigeria work effectively within his lifetime.
Bakare made it clear that while it is important to voice concerns when necessary, the focus should also be on contributing ideas that can move the country forward. He stated that his discussion with the President was private, but he was satisfied with how he was received.
He expressed his hope that the President would be guided in a way that leads to progress for the nation. Bakare added that he wants Nigeria to avoid decline and instead begin to recover and improve. He believes that with the right leadership, it is possible to build a country that leaves a lasting positive legacy.
He also spoke about his desire for a united and peaceful Nigeria. He stressed the importance of people treating each other with respect and working together across regional lines.
According to him, meaningful collaboration between capable individuals from both the northern and southern parts of the country is necessary to move Nigeria in the right direction.
