The Council and Senate of the Federal University, Lokoja have conferred the Honorary Doctor of Science degree and the title of Honorary Scholar on Pastor Dr. William Folorunsho Kumuyi.

The conferment followed the university’s established statutes and regulations, with Pastor Kumuyi found worthy of receiving the prestigious honorary degree. Represented at the ceremony, formally conferred the degree by the university’s chancellor.
Pastor Kumuyi is the General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church and a respected national figure known for his transformative impact in both spiritual and educational spheres. His academic journey began at the University of Ibadan, where he graduated in 1967 with first-class honours in mathematics.
He was not only the best-graduating student of his year but also earned a scholarship to pursue a PhD, which he declined in order to focus on his calling to serve God.
He continued his academic development at the University of Lagos, where he completed a postgraduate certificate in education and later joined the institution as a lecturer in the Department of Mathematics in 1973.
Over the years, Pastor Kumuyi has been recognised globally and nationally, receiving numerous honorary doctorate degrees including one from the University of Abuja in 2018.
His influence spans ministry, education, and national development, making him a well-deserving recipient of this latest honour from the Federal University of Lokoja.
