The PFN president, Bishop Francis Wale Oke, has described evangelism as a divine mandate and a vital way for individuals to spread the good news of salvation and eternal damnation. He made this known while calling on Christians across Nigeria to participate actively in the Global Day of Gospel Outreach by taking the message of Christ into their communities.
Bishop Wale Oke, who also leads the Sword of the Spirit Ministries, stressed the importance of intentional evangelism in today’s world. He said that sharing the gospel remains a core responsibility of every believer and a direct response to the command of Christ.
“Beloved, I give thanks to God for your life, your salvation, and for the word of the Lord that comes to you day by day. May the name of the Lord be glorified in your life as you share the statement of Jesus, the supreme evangelist,” he said.
He encouraged Christians not to take this calling lightly, urging them to use the opportunity of the global outreach day to proclaim the message of peace, redemption, and divine love. “Today, we have another glorious opportunity to declare the gospel of Christ to people in our communities and across the globe. It is an awesome privilege and a great honour of God to save people from eternal condemnation,” he stated.
In his remarks, Bishop Wale Oke also reminded Christians of the empowerment that comes through the Holy Spirit, referencing the words of Christ in Acts 1 verse 8. “Our Lord Jesus said, you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. And you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth,” he said.
The bishop called for unity of purpose among believers, encouraging them to motivate one another to remain faithful in carrying out this task, not just on special days but as part of daily Christian living.
