The Presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners Chapel), Dr. David Oyedepo, has credited the church’s consistent growth and global reach to unwavering faith in God and a lifestyle of gratitude.
Speaking at the 44th anniversary of the Liberation Mandate, Oyedepo reflected on the ministry’s humble origins and the challenges it faced in its early years.
“Behind everything in this commission is God. We started with a grass cathedral at the beginning, and today, we have choice churches across the globe,” he said.
He recalled a major setback during the ministry’s formative years; a crusade held in Aba in 1987 that failed to deliver results. However, he noted how early failure eventually gave way to massive expansion. “With a failed crusade in Aba in 1987, today we have 87 churches in Aba cities alone. Gratitude brought us this far. Not giving thanks means you’re accusing God of not knowing your worth or size.”
Highlighting his personal spiritual journey, the bishop said, “I have been sold out to Jesus since 1976, and till now, I remain a sold-out fighter for Christ. I heard from the Lord when He told me, ‘I have a place at the top for you if you follow and obey Me.’”
Addressing members of the church, Oyedepo cautioned against internal conflicts and distractions that could derail spiritual progress. “Beware of destiny blockers and agents of the devil. Beware of politics in church. Don’t let any agent of the devil dissuade you from your glorious destiny.”
The anniversary service took place on May 4, 2025, at the church’s international headquarters in Ota, Ogun State.
